A small Norwegian fjord just a few kilometers from the Venetian plain, immersed in the Belluno mountains: this is Corlo lake in Arsiè.
It is a jewel located in the wide green valley amoung the Valsugana, Monte Grappa and the lands of Feltre. It is formed by a barrage of the Cismon torrent and extends south to Arsiè, a small village from which it takes its name, up to the suggestive suburb of Rocca. The latter was submerged in1954 and today is only a small group of houses.
Northward the banks of the lake are gentle and eriched by a wide beach of grass, whereas to the south they are irregular and indented, dug up from the beautiful inlets that can be admired by going through the dirt tiny street that winds along the bank on the opposite side of Rocca. The most impressive point is definitely the charachterstic made of steel cables Ponte delle Corde.
For those who want to spend a few relaxing days in direct contact with nature there are two well-equipped campsites that are directly located on the shores of the lake. Tourists can also choose to stay either in the numeours bed & breakfast or farm holidays or in the typical alpine houses, where it is possible to taste and buy the traditional products of the province of Belluno like the mountain cheeses.
